We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization devoted to increasing the quality of life for our aging, disabled, and youth populations. Whether through care, connection, or community service, our goal is simple: to comfort those who need it most.
Born from the legacy of Lucille Ashford, LUCY is more than a name – it’s a movement rooted in love, service, and compassion. Explore our programs, get involved, and help us create a future where no one is left behind.
Why We Exist
Let Us Comfort You was founded in 2019 in memory of Lucille Ashford, a woman of grace, strength, and boundless love. As she approached the final year of her life, her son became her primary caregiver – experiencing firsthand the emotional, physical, and spiritual toll that caretaking can take, and the immeasurable love that comes with it.
That journey inspired the birth of LUCY: a heartfelt mission to comfort others the way Lucille comforted us.

Our upcoming housing initiatives include:
Senior Healthy Homes
Focused on improving living conditions for aging adults by offering healthy home evaluations, energy efficiency upgrades, safety inspections, and access to affordable senior housing.
Future Group Homes
Designed to provide supportive, community-based living environments for individuals who need stability, care, and a path forward. These homes will serve seniors, individuals transitioning from incarceration, people experiencing temporary homelessness, and others in need of a safe, structured place to rebuild and thrive.
